Fergus AitkenFergus is a Chartered Surveyor with thirty years experience in the construction sector. Hestarted his career as a Quantity Surveyor and progressed into Project Management before moving into Construction Procurement and Collaborative Framework Management.

He has predominantly worked within the Building Sector but spent 10 years with Anglian Water on Civil Engineering, Utility and Business change projects. Fergus has experience of a wide range of construction contracts and was one of the first regular users of the NEC contract in the mid 1990’s.

Fergus has been involved with the YORbuild framework from the outset and was a key member of the drafting team. In addition he led on the procurement of the YORcivil framework and currently carries out the role of YORconsult framework manager for the North and East areas.

During his career he has worked in the public and private sectors and has experience of working as both an Estimator and Contract QS within a contracting organisation.

In addition to his regional roles Fergus has been involved with a number of national working groups, recent examples being the NIEP (National Efficiency and Improvement Partnership) and PAS 91 which is currently revising the standard Construction Industry pre-qualification questionnaire.
