Ebor Vale Riding for the Disabled have sent in photos and videos of their new carriage in action. The group applied to the 4 Good Fund in 2015 for funding to replace their outdated carriage with a modern “Fenix” model, which is more suited to both the disabled drivers and volunteer assistants.
Ebor Vale RDA is based in the East Riding of Yorkshire and offers riding and carriage driving to people of all ages and with a variety of disabilities. Through their Drive and Thrive project the group benefits disabled drivers as well as their families by promoting health and wellbeing, improving communication, motor and coordination skills and boosting confidence.
The Fenix carriage is lighter in weight, more manoeuvrable, and is designed with a more user friendly ramp for loading drivers plus wheelchairs if needed.
