Leisure World, Bridlington
A collaborative design between East Riding of Yorkshire Council, BAM and Mason Clark Associates. The £20m project is a major redevelopment of leisure facilities which has been entirely conceived and designed using BIM software. The project starts on site in 2014, the model will be handed over to the contractor to use as the basis to build from.
Haltemprice Leisure Centre MPF, Anlaby
£6m redevelopment of a Multi-Purpose Facility as part of service centralisation, includes sports centre, library, doctor’s surgery and customer service centre. The MPF has also been designed with BIM softwares to test almost every conceivable layout option prior to commencement of works. BIM was used to check the aesthetics of the project and also to undertake thermal modelling to ensure the building is energy efficient.
Clough Road Fire Station, Hull
The new fire station, project value c£2.5m, will have a sedum roof and incorporates a mist sprinkler system. M&E is by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, contractor Hobson & Porter. The drains have been designed and modelled using BIM.
King’s Mill School, Driffield
£6m schools redevelopment. The model has been used to allay resident’s fears about loss of light from the new school building. Solar tracking has accurately mapped shadows throughout the day
Morley Newlands Primary School, Leeds
Project value £5.5m. Contractor Wates. The brand new 3,178 sqm building will be constructed on the school’s existing playing fields, and will allow the school to expand its capacity to provide 630 places for children aged three to 11 years, including 39 nursery places. Completion of the works is scheduled for July 2014.
