Sustainability Special Interest Group
On Thursday the 29th of February 2024 YORhub held its first ever Sustainability Special Interest Group, made up of over thirty attendees from YORhub users, contractors, and consultants who met at the YORbuild3 constructed and award nominated – RaisE Business Centre. The new group has been set up to encourage the discussion and dissemination of best practice across the YORhub frameworks. The group will look at various topics related to sustainability and net zero carbon, and how the YORhub frameworks can maximise positive environmental impacts on projects.
Presenters consisted of Mike Raven, YORhub Sustainability Manager, Lucy Allis, Local Authorities Climate Action Coordinator from the York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority, and Dr Suhaib Arogundade, YORhub’s sponsored PhD student from Leeds Beckett University (pictured above).
The presentations covered expectations for framework partners, namely signing up to the Carbon Reduction Code , submitting carbon data for new construction projects via the NACF Embodied Carbon Tool and the use of Dr Arogundade’s KPIs for positive behaviour in reducing carbon. Meetings are open to attendees from YORhub framework users, consultants, and contractors. Contact Mike Raven for further details.
