GRAHAM donates defibrillators on Jock's Lodge scheme

Contractor GRAHAM has delivered three defibrillators through YOR4Good as part of its social value commitments on the A164 & Jock’s Lodge Improvements Scheme, in collaboration with Kirk Ella & West Ella Parish Council, East Yorkshire.

A sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time – regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. The British Heart Foundation says that there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK, and quick CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chance that someone’s life will be saved.

These three life-saving devices are to be stationed in key placements in the local area to help ensure that residents and visitors have faster access to emergency care when it matters most, demonstrating the project team’s commitment to building safer communities.

L-R Cllr Gary McMaster, Willerby and Kirk Ella Ward, Richard McKinnon, Hayley Waller, Land lady of The Star Inn, James Stevenson, Senior Project Manager, (GRAHAM) and Dan Cawthra, Head of Stakeholder & Community Engagement, (GRAHAM) with the defibrillator to be located at the pub in Willerby

Cllr Gary McMaster, Willerby and Kirk Ella Ward, commented:

“GRAHAM have demonstrated what a fantastic and generous team you are with your very kind donation of three defibrillators to be installed around the Willerby and Kirk Ella communities. One will go on a wall near a prominent and well used public bus stop in Kirk Ella, another in Willerby again in a prominent place next to the parish notice board on a main road. The third will go in the car park of The Star Inn public house in Willerby. On behalf of the community, I wish to thank you most sincerely.”
