Small Pond in Bentley Village

Community project helps protect Bentley village from flooding

As part of contractor GRAHAM’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, the A164 & Jocks Lodge team recently assisted Rowley Parish Council to help reduce the risk of flooding in Bentley village, near Beverley, East Yorkshire.
Supported through the YOR4Good fund, the team took time out over a weekend to dredge the pond in the village and play a vital role in alleviating flooding during storm events.

Cllr John Tunnicliffe from Rowley Parish Council thanked the team:
“On behalf of Rowley Parish Council and the residents of Bentley I would like to extend our grateful thanks to you and your team for the dredging works at Bentley Pond.
This will help enormously in reducing the pond bursting its banks and sending a river of water and fish down the road. Please extend our thanks to all those involved.”
