Kier staff tidying up the courtyard at Rotherham Hospital

Central courtyard rejuvenated

Following engagement with Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Kier Construction committed to providing six of their staff for a volunteering day, as part of a YOR4Good initiative, revitalising an outdoor area overlooked by both patients and staff.

Patients had highlighted that the neglected area gave a poor impression of the hospital.  By the end of the day, the transformation was remarkable: the patio was cleared, trees were cut back, weeds removed, and the entire area swept and refreshed. The project not only improved the hospital environment for patients and staff alike but also opened discussions about further collaboration between the hospital and Kier, particularly around volunteering and fundraising opportunities.
