Sustainability plan for Ferriby Social Club

Following Sustainable Ferriby CIC’s successful application to the YOR4Good Fund on behalf of Ferriby Social Club for a £10,000 grant, our YOR4Good Vice Chair, Stefanie Wright, was pleased to present the Club with an official YOR4Good Fund plaque.

The grant has supported the supply and installation of a solar panel system at the Social Club, aligning with their vision to enhance sustainability and strengthen long‑term economic viability. The project aims to significantly reduce energy costs, which have risen sharply in recent years.

Stefanie Wright said:   “For over a century this historic club, in various forms, has been a cornerstone of the community. Thanks to the passion and dedication of the Chairman and others involved, the newly installed solar panels are expected to sustain its legacy for many more years to come. It’s heartening to see that the initiative is already yielding results, with anticipated savings of £3,000 in the first year alone. These savings will no doubt be reinvested into maintaining and further developing the facility, ensuring its continued success.”
