Why YORhub
Built for the public sector
YORhub was created to give public sector organisations access to high-quality construction procurement support.
We’re staffed and led by dedicated local authority officers, bringing first-hand public sector experience to the frameworks and support we provide.
We’re not here to generate profit for private companies or shareholders. Any income we receive supports your local public sector and local communities.
All of our frameworks are accredited by the National Association of Construction Frameworks, giving you confidence that the essentials you need are built in from the start.
Making a difference through our frameworks
We believe good procurement should create benefits beyond the project itself. Over the past 15 years, we have:
•Helped 2,200 people in the region get back into work
•Given 29,000 pupils experience of the construction industry through site visits and workshops
•Awarded over £2.1m to 250 community groups and projects through our YOR4GOOD programme
•Diverted 934,000 tonnes of waste from landfill
•Run annual Meet the Buyer events attended by over 200 SMEs
•Delivered over 2,300 projects for more than 90 public and third sector clients, worth over £3.4bn
Our frameworks at the core of everything
In addition, over the past 15 years we have also:
•Co-founded the National Association of Construction Frameworks (NACF)
•Set up the first Framework Employment and Skills Academy with CITB, with contractual employment and skills outputs
•Implemented the first framework supply chain engagement programme to create opportunities for local SMEs
•Been recognised by government as a national leader for project bank accounts to protect the supply chain
•Built sustainability into YORhub, recognised at the Rio Earth Summit through a YORbuild global case study
•Required suppliers to sign up to the Carbon Reduction Code for the Built Environment from the Construction Playbook
•Become the first framework to implement LGA modern slavery guidance
Still moving forward
We continue to look for ways to improve what our frameworks can deliver.
We’re leading the development of sustainability standards for the NACF, working with Leeds College of Building in its role as our local Construction Technical Excellence College to tailor employment and skills requirements to the needs of different parts of the region, and acting as lead event partner for the first ever Constructing Excellence North conference.
For us, this is about making sure knowledge, skills and opportunities are developed here in the North, rather than always centred elsewhere.
