New YORcivil Major Works framework awarded

Eight contractors have secured a place on our new £2bn framework
YORcivil Major Works is a collaborative regional construction framework for the delivery of civil engineering and highways major works projects worth over £10m for the Yorkshire and Humber region’s 22 local authorities, other regionally based public sector bodies and third sector organisations. It will be managed on their behalf by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Sheffield City Council.
This new framework will continue to grow the benefits delivered through YORcivil2, which includes cost savings for clients, and improvements in both project quality and programme delivery when compared to traditional one off procurements.

Featuring the same great benefits as all YORhub frameworks
YORcivil Major Works encompasses four added-value themes that are included in all YORhub frameworks to ensure that projects completed through the framework deliver social, economic and environmental benefits. In particular the employment and skills theme has delivered tangible opportunities for local people and its headline figures include:
• 2200 people have progressed into employment
• More than 18,000 apprentice weeks provided
• 1700 people given a work experience placement
• 29,000 students attending site visits or workshops
