A Hull of a day at the MKM Stadium

Our annual Meet The Buyer event was held at the MKM Stadium, Hull on May 14th and attracted hundreds of subcontractors and suppliers from across the area.

The opportunity to meet major YORhub framework contractors face to face and introduce themselves and their companies, proved too good to miss for many. This year’s event also had three well-attended breakout sessions, with tier one contractors explaining what they look for from a supplier and how to build lasting  relationships, leading to work. YORhub Framework Managers from YORbuild & YORcivil hosted the talks and provided insight regarding framework requirements.

YORhub wishes to express its sincere gratitude to all framework contractors and exhibitors attending the event.

Education & Skills

Our education and skills partners including Leeds Beckett University, Hull College, Heart of Yorkshire Education Group and Leeds College of Building, discussed how apprenticeships, T Levels and work experience can strengthen bids and social value.

Attendees also had the chance to learn about YORscep, our supply chain engagement programme, and how to join our YORscep members site which offers the chance to bid for subcontract opportunities.

Hull Foodbank

Hull Foodbank - part of Trussell Trust

YORhub also supported Hull Foodbank this year, and wishes to thank all those who brought in contributions on the day.

The collection was further boosted by the generosity of our framework contractor Wilmott Dixon, who has arranged to donate £500 via their YOR4Good commitments.

Hull Foodbank is part of the Trussell network and is an independent, local charity, founded on Christian principles, whose vision is to end hunger and poverty in Hull and relies on the generous help and support of the local community in several ways:

  • Volunteering: Volunteers are always needed. From sorting donations and assisting with distribution, to giving a warm welcome to those in need.
  • Food donations: Check the foodbank’s website for a list of food items most needed.
  • Financial donations: Monetary contributions help the foodbank to restock with specific supplies it is running short of.
  • Raising awareness: Spreading the word about Hull Foodbank’s work helps promote support.
