Client Conference 2023

A successful event

Over 80 delegates attended this year’s YORhub client conference on 10th October to engage with industry professionals on a range of current issues in construction.

Last held in 2019, we were delighted to host our conference again this year at Horizon in Leeds. Public sector framework users from across the region heard topical presentations from industry experts including guest speakers, framework contractors and consultants, and YORhub framework managers.

Keynotes

Our main sponsor, Kier, outlined their vision of sustainable procurement by reducing waste, using environmentally friendly energy sources and biodiversity net gain assessments.

YORhub Programme Managers Mark Ives and Phil Henderson described our latest YORcivil3 and YORbuild3 frameworks, with their themes of Employment and Skills, Supply Chain Management and Economic Regeneration.

Consultant Helen Carter gave expert insights into Modern Slavery in Construction and how the industry can recognise the signs and observe due diligence to reduce this exploitation. YORhub’s Joint Chair of Operations, Steve Baker, outlined how YORhub frameworks have adopted the LGA Modern Slavery Guidance, placing emphasis on risk assessment, staff training and a declaration of zero tolerance.

There was also an engaging Q & A panel addressing ‘The State Of The Industry’.
