Esh supports community groups through YOR4Good

Over £6,000 was presented to two incredible organisations
Esh, a YORhub contractor, has donated funds to organisations working to improve their communities. The Suit Works and The Real Junk Food Project are using these funds to develop their schemes and provide support for even more people.

The Real Junk Food Project
The project seeks to reduce food waste by intercepting food that would otherwise go to waste and redistributing it in the community. The project has so far saved 4,528,991kg of food.
A network of cafes, Sharehouses, Freegan Boxes, schools and community groups all benefit from the scheme, and surplus is sold on a pay-as-you-feel basis.
The £3,000 donation has paid for a refrigerated van. The new transport will increase the volume of food that the project can collect. Keeping the van cool allows them to travel further for longer, allowing safer collection and delivery of food.
The donation was made at their Kindness Sharehouse in Wakefield
A social supermarket stocked entirely with perfectly good food that would have otherwise be thrown in the bin. Visitors pay what they can afford and come away with bread, fresh fruit, cheese and more.
The Suit Works

For those that have the opportunity for a job interview but not the means to afford suitable clothing, The Suit Works provide a vital step towards helping them succeed. Clients that are referred to the project are given a styling session in which they are given a suit, shirt, tie, shoes and interview skills to help them succeed.
Clients keep the clothes provided by The Suit Works, whether their interview is successful or not. They can also receive some informal interview training and practical skills lessons like how to keep their clothes presentable and personal grooming.
The charity received £3,700
The donation allows fitting rooms to be built on the premises. They are planning to expand their work to provide suitable clothes for women as well as men of all ages.

Esh made their donations through the YOR4Good programme
YOR4Good is the community grant initiative of YORhub, a partnership between East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Leeds City Council, Scarborough Borough Council, Sheffield City Council and Rotherham Metropolitan District Council, and its framework construction contractors, who use part of their corporate social responsibility commitments to contribute to the YOR4Good fund. This fund provides a combination of cash and/or resources to support community groups in our region.
