Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s local youth housing charity providing shelter, support and life skills to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Committed to ending youth homelessness, Roundabout believes that with a safe place to live and tailored support, a young person can progress to independence.

The grant contributed towards the cost of an urgently needed new roof at their property located in Glencoe Road, Sheffield. This particular property houses 16 to 18 year olds with 24/7 support onsite from the Roundabout charity team and is an amazing space where they have their own rooms, showering facilities – some ensuite and two communal areas.

Mike said, “It was a privilege to be invited to see the property to handover the plaque and to see at first hand the fantastic work the Roundabout team is doing for the young and vulnerable people in the Sheffield area.” He added, “On behalf of the YOR4Good team, it was a pleasure to support their successful bid for the new roof on their property in Sheffield, with funding from the YOR4Good fund and to see the building in all its splendour.”

Emily Jones, Roundabout Fundraising Manager said, “We were delighted to welcome Mike Benn to one of our group living projects, where he presented a beautiful plaque from YOR4Good. Their generous support made the recent roof refurbishment possible. This plaque represents the incredible backing from YOR4Good. We’re so grateful for their help in refurbishing the roof, which was in desperate need of TLC, transforming the space for our young people. The completed work has created a stunning, safe and welcoming living environment that our young people can truly enjoy and call home. Thank you to YOR4Good for supporting us on this vital project!”

YOR4Good supports local economic regeneration through the provision of benefit in kind donations or cash grants (generally up to £10,000) to charities and community groups undertaking small projects within their communities.
