Civil engineering contractors invited to bid

YORhub has just published the advert for YORcivil Major Works 2, a new framework to deliver civil engineering works, including bridges/structures, and highway, flood alleviation and coastal works above £10m for the region’s public sector organisations.

The framework will cover the Yorkshire and Humber region including the Sheffield LEP area and will replace the current YORcivil Major Works Framework which is due to expire in December 2025.

It is anticipated that 8 contractors will be appointed to the framework.

Tenders are to be returned in mid-May 2025 and framework award is expected in the Autumn of 2025.

Framework features

YORhub was a member of the Cabinet Office Construction Playbook steering group and the framework will be aligned with the Construction Playbook v1.1 published by the UK Government in September 2022 to deliver best practice outcomes.

Key features of YORcivil Major Works 2 include direct selection and single or two stage mini competition call off options, and the use of NEC4 as the preferred form of contract.

The introduction of the new framework builds on the success of the current YORcivil Major Works framework in delivering public sector projects above £10m across the Yorkshire and Humber region and neighbouring areas. YORcivil Major Works has already delivered civils projects worth circa £380m for public sector clients.
