Over 100 attendees

More than 100 representatives from over 30 public sector organisations attended this year’s YORhub client conference in Leeds to learn more about how innovation is changing and supporting the construction industry.

Informative keynote speeches

Renowned and experienced industry experts gave keynote speeches through the day.

Professor Rudi Klein, CEO of SEC Group and construction barrister spoke on the sustainability of the construction supply chain and the benefits of project bank accounts.

Martin Armitage, Business Development Director for Galliford Try North East and Yorkshire, delivered an engaging talk on how technology continues to improve health and safety on site and what more can be done.

Finally Josie Rothera, civil engineer and director of the MSc Civil Engineering programme at Leeds Beckett University, presented a keynote on digital innovation across the industry.

Breakout sessions covering a broad range of subjects

We heard from YORhub framework managers and sponsors on a variety of engaging and well-received topics including:

  • The new YORbuild Major and YORcivil Major frameworks
  • CSR and social value calculators (sponsored by Kier)
  • Key innovative changes to NEC4
  • Carbon reduction in construction (sponsored by Willmott Dixon)
  • Offsite construction (sponsored by Morgan Sindall)

Supported by framework contractors

The high standard of the event was made possible through sponsorship by our framework contractors. We thank all sponsors for their support and for attending on the day, which provided YORhub’s public sector clients with the opportunity to interact and find out how contractors are working hard to deliver projects safely, efficiently and responsibly.
